Every variety of the signs?letters, and figures?em* ployed to indicate divisions and sub-divisions, and almost every kind of type which the printer's fount contains, are observable, and the mass of letterpress so composed is so ingeniously blocked and leaded that the page-landscape, so to describe it, is exceedingly varied and pretty. The setting up does great credit to the American Mission Press at Lucknow, indicating as it does a good assortment of types and skilful compositors. But when we have said this we have exhausted all the praise which we can conscientiously bestow upon this work. Its ruling principle is to reduce to a tabular form, by a system of severe classification, the whole of descriptive osteology. It constitutes an apotheosis of mechanical arrangement, a triumph of technical terminology. The groundwork of classification is in the case of no two bones
